Project GTO Debuts at Fall Carlisle The hectic pace we experienced during the two weeks before Fall Carlisle came together successfully when the project GTO was delivered Friday October 4th, at 10:00 am. For the first time everyone involved with the project gathered around the GTO to meet, exchange information, and participate in a photo shoot. Steve was there to represent Ames Performance; Bill Miller and Chip Miller, along with assistants Lisa Leathery and Mike DeFord, represented Carlisle Foundation; and shop teacher Joe Macchioni brought all six of the participating Dauphin Tech. students involved with the restoration. After introductions, several photo shoots were completed, and we finally had a chance to talk to the students about the project. The first impression we received was how thrilled they were to be selected for the project. Every one of the students loved the design of the '67 (not everyone loved the rust, however) and were grateful Carlisle and Ames had combined to give them a chance to bring the "goat" back to life. Within minutes they were asking detailed questions about the restoration techniques, new products available, who orders the parts, etc. After we answered as many questions as possible, Joe and the students headed for our trailer display to get GTO catalogs, look over many of the parts we will supply, and talk to Terry and Kevin who will help with technical support for the project. The following photos were taken at the Carlisle debut followed by individual photos of the youngsters including information about each student. The next posting will be a very interesting look at the GTO's billing history.
