Although the compressor is the only component that requires the replacement of the receiver/drier to maintain it's warranty, most manufacturers recommend replacing the receiver/drier any time that you "break in to" the air conditioning refrigerant system since the debris within the system accumulates in receiver/drier and the receiver/drier itself will break down over time.
